Named for what we do
The name puts AI next to cognition — knowing, recognising, making sense of. It is the opposite of how most organisations experience artificial intelligence: a black box that arrives with confident claims attached and leaves everyone quietly unsure what just happened.
We take the lid off. In a training room that means explaining how these systems actually work, including where they fail. In a consultancy engagement it means showing our reasoning, naming the risks, and telling you when the honest recommendation is to wait.
Our mark is a constellation — scattered points that only become a pattern once someone shows you how to read them. That is the job: turn scattered tools, claims and risks into a picture your people can navigate on their own.

Mir Akbar Khan
Mir Akbar Khan is an Information Security, Data Protection and Technology Leader with international experience in cybersecurity, privacy, digital transformation, governance and emerging technologies. He founded ai.cognite to make AI understandable and safe for organisations across the region.
He is the author of 11 books on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, OT and aviation security, leadership and wellbeing — including The Dark Side of Artificial Intelligence, Agentic AI for Leaders and Artificial Intelligence from the Lens of a CISO. He shares practical explainers on the ai.cognite YouTube channel.
